Have a 1976 nash 454. Two owners and genuine 2600 hour Only real rust is bottom of cab doors but not horrendous. Nothing major done in my time other than brakes. Will need clutch soon Good original tractor.

Ford 4610 with grays linking loader buckets and grain. Bottom of doors and non structural rust wings
Both start 1st turn and run really well

Why would a tractor that's done 2600 need a clutch and has already had it brakes done....must have been hard hours??

Not necessarily hard hours
If clutch has not been adjusted for free play then it won't last long
I worked at main IH dealer when 454's
Were new and I remember a 454 needing a new clutch after only 250 hours because of lack of free play
It is my opinion that a lot of foot brake
Problems were caused by not keeping
the oil cooler clear at front
Also the handbrake would be ruined if
Driven short distance while still applied

Yep if the free play isn't adjusted and it has clutch fingers like I am picturing in my head they will be toast or brazed onto the release bearing lolol.... Or
