Any one priced clik yet.

Right lads. There as got to be a solution to this problem. I farmed way back in time where we washed all the sheep in a stream dammed for the job and farmers in the area used to walk their flock over and wash them.
Dipping tanks were the norm then and dogs and all went in. Now an old chap I use to know never bothered with the dip and used to run his sheep back and fore through an area of Wormwood that grew on his farm.
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is an herb used in the alcoholic drinks vermouth and absinthe. Its oil contains the chemical thujone, which may be poisonous. The thujone in wormwood oil excites the central nervous system and can cause seizures and other adverse effects.
He never had any problems with fly strike, possibly because the sheep stank of the plant.

If you were to put click on this week, when would you be looking to get clipping?

It is 40 day meat withdrawal and should be 60 day before shearing so some time in mid August!
Best to apply cheap Crovect or a copy to get you through the next month if you are concerned.
Or shear asap and wait a month and do with Clik and forget about it for this year.

3 months shearing withdrawal, for some reason.

I'll be applying half rate Clik to my ewes shortly, then not shearing until after weaning, late August/early September (aiming to wean before then though). Never have any bother with fly strike, and they don't need treating after shearing that late.
Ewes a lot better to shear then, and no lambs to shed off, etc. I've been doing that for over a decade and not sure why more don't do the same. :)

Why is it so expensive? Would ectofly not do the same job at less than half the price?

No, it's a very different product with a different mode of action.

Ectofly will only treat the area you apply it to (no spreading) and will last 6 weeks, or 8 if you're lucky. It kills the flies that land on it (& dung beetles, etc) and a short meat withdrawal period.

Clik will spread over the whole body and will protect 16-18 weeks (so the whole season inmost areas, if timed right). It doesn't kill any flies (or ticks), it just stops the blowfly larvae developing to the biting stage. It does have a 40 meat withdrawal period and costs a lot more though.

The 20 litre pack size is 4x5l (and a free gun (y)) on the Bimeda website.
Ffs. My clikzin comes in boxes of 20 litre (4x5litre) but I wouldn’t say it comes as 20 litres 🤦🏻‍♂️
I do nothing to ewes pre shearing mid June, just check daily, lambs will get clikzin over the arse/fanny next week which should last until weaning, their in every 14 days for weighing then anyway so if anything is dirty it gets trimmed clean and reapplied with clikzin. Any lambs with wool are sheared just after weaning as that’s when their 8 weeks runs out/next application due. I may crovect 100 mules 4-5 mile away late august for piece of mind.
