Any soft fruit growers out there?

My Discovery were at the 12-15mm stage, I thought there was a decent amount (subject to June drop)
Looked again this evening and they appear completely buggered! Soft and shrivelled, I can't see them getting over it.
This morning I was doing a scab round on another orchard and thinking to myself "why am I even spraying these as there's nowt on them". God knows how the rest are going to turn out but it's not looking good right now and I am pretty sure it is already freezing out there now.
My (garden) potatoes are a mess, they look like they have had a dose of paraquat. No big deal but the 40 acres down the road are black as of this morning. That would really sicken me. (not mine)

My discos were looking promising. They've now run and run and run. So if it is any consolation you're not alone.

Ok thanks, I graze our orchard with sheep, so could just run through with the spinner on so the grass gets some too. A bit of 25 5 5 should be ok then? Whens best March time?

I wouldn't bother. You could do a bit if you have some left over I guess but you would be fertilising the grass not the trees.

l dont live in the fruit growing areas of the south but try to buy direct from the grower for our farm and farm shop as much as possible, my nearest top quality strawberry grower lives 50 miles away, a three hour round trip which cancelled out much of the profit, my spend on the English strawberry season is around £5000.00. what would the cost be to set up my own under plastic unit to supply this amount and how long before l had a crop.

Spanish tunnel should do circa 10 tons per acre and you would have a crop next year.
You could have a crop this year if you plant 60 day Elsanta plants. They are frozen plants that crop 60 days after planting, hence the name.

Takes a lot of labour if for the shop but massive potential for pyo.
Just so happens I have a lot of Spanish tunnel frames for sale if you are interested.

I would like a pruning pulveriser but don't really know where to look as there aren't many orchards around here.
I have past experience of a Perfect flail but would like to know if the "cheaper" Italian flails are up to the job. Any recommendations on where to inquire, which models to avoid etc?
Tractor is Same Dorado 100F.

I used perfect in the uk, and they’ve got to be the best.
Nicolas make a good one, and I have a neighbor that runs it with hedge flails on 200 ac, I’ve now got a vineyard one, a Gard, that I bought in a hedge and re bearing’ d etc. They all seem to work.

We use a votex flail and very happy with it. Before that we had a Continental flail, the local dealer imports them from Greece, it was a well made heavy duty one.

Useful for smaller quantities (by that I mean just one pallet full)
You get much better prices if you shop around the big packaging companies for lorry loads. None are cheap though, packaging prices are horrendous.

thanks for that, bizarrely i work in the packaging industry ! but not quite nested punnets. he uses several '000 . just trying to find different manufactures to approach
