It is really worth staying on top of what is going on. Nothing else I have ever invested in has the returns of renewables, so it is well worth spending time and effort to make sure they work to their best for you,
That includes finding a good FIT licensee ( that pays promptly), seeking a value PPA ( decent payment, paid promptly), ensuring you are receiving embedded benefits, and making sure that your scheme is compliant.
Don't let the investment slip. If it were any other thing on your farm you would tend to it, nourish it, and look after it. Do the same with the ones that pay!!!!

Did you let them claim the grant money on your behalf? Bet you never saw any of it😂

Get the job done......no excuses for not. Funding is available,.....if you don't do it, you may have your connection terminated.
If only it was that simple!
it is not and we have still not had it done despite repeated attempts.
firstly @lazy farmer what size is your set up?
do you have a G59 switch?
most likely if you are below 50kw there is nothing to do.
but it should be pushed on with as the scheme may run out of funding and you will be left to do it out of your own pocket.
luckily for most set ups it is only a few minutes work.

we wanted to take advantage of this scheme to upgrade our relay but the DNO wont approve it! We have to crack on with the old one.

If your using one of the inverters on national grid's already tested list (like I am an ABB in my case) there is nothing to do.
If you have an external G59 relay outside of the inverter, then you may well need the update.

Happy to let a professional get on with this.

We were dropped in the SH1T when the company providing our turbine went tits up and had to project manage the whole thing ourselves in 2014 and got our turbine up in 8 weeks with just hours to spare.

Probably could have done this upgrade ourselves but not without some costs but our main business has gone from strength to strength during this pandemic so needed to concentrate on that.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing !

I reckon the firm who did mine would have got over 6K for 15 minutes work with no parts needed. I let them fill their boots also.

Hi Lazy Farmer. Happy to help if you need us. Most likely no works will need doing on your solar site, but worth checking nonetheless whilst grants are available and someone else is paying for the works.

If you want to email me your details I can get in touch to discuss your site.
