Grown it for 3 years , 3.6t too this years 4.5 t / ha , oils good 47.1 this year.(central store weighbridge and testing).
I drill with DTS straight into stubble around 10th September with 100ltr of 26N liquid alongside while drilled.
Mine this year leaned 45% in high winds early July but did not go down.
There was a thread in cropping from someone "Mass lodging of OSR" 2nd August re Imperial.
My agronomist and I decided that while Impression was a so called better variety and other firms were pushing it, I would rather stick to what I know and works than change for the sake of it.

Thanks Oscar,

Doesn't look too bad for lodging on the stats does it? Have ordered some to try. Oils look alright too.

I've grown it in the past, solid enough variety that's been superseded by newer CL types

Don't know where you are, but CYO at Chilton have Phoenix, which I'd have said was a better bet than Imperial...

We are going to plant Phoenix, its what we had last year. Both the Plurax and Phoenix seemed to do ok this year. Time will tell when it goes.

Grew phoenix and imperial this year.
Phoenix was considerably better.
Yield and oil higher.
Shorter, easier to cut, all round better. In fields next door to each other, historically the imperial field yields more.

Grown it for 4 years. 6ft plus high but then 2/5ths went flat with the torrential rain in June so did not yield well.
OOPs, got Plurax seed for this year as it is a lot shorter. One bag of Decibel to try as well.
