Looking at swapping tractors to pull our 5000l trailed sprayer, instead of having to change the tractor 16.9 row crops i was thinking of leaving it on 650s all year round. We don't dessicate our osr or wheat we have a high clearance contractor do that and I was wondering if there are people out there running them and what peoples thoughts were?

I run a JD 7930 with 650s on all year round, towing a Chafer 30m 6000l Sentry. The sprayer weighs 13.5t fully loaded with liquid fert so row crops are 460mm wide to carry the weight. Not enough difference to warrant putting narrower wheels on the tractor IMO.

It depends on your tramline width. 650mm x 2 = 1.3m of wheelings every 30 metres so 4% of the field lost. On 18m tramlines the same tyres would occupy 7% of the field.

Do the transmission ratios not work out for swapping the rims for the row crops & buying new centres?

I haven't looked at that yet, but quite like the idea of running on 650s all year round save a lot of hassle, especially as 8 series fendt was speced on 18.4s so nearly as wide. Could go to 36m when swap sprayer so less wheelings in the future.
