Yes, one well timed dose of Proline planned for mid flowering in response to warm weather & rainfall 3 weeks after the yellow bud fungicide/pgr. Nothing on the flea beetle hit backward fields that would show the lowest return on investment. That's probably the wrong thing to do given an extended flowering period in these but I'll gamble on yet another low disease year.

We haven't had a bad one since 2008 - if you'd put the money you spent on flowering fungicides as insurance in an ISA it would pay out for the one year we get a bad infection!

Did my field this afternoon, mid flower now, petals starting to drop, damp mornings and warm days. Hopefully covered for next 3 weeks.

Spray is sitting in chemicals store, with note, spray at 10% flower emergence. Agronomist must be expecting two flower sprays!!
No rain in the forecast so I’ll wait and do one spray, maybe.

Walked a couple of fields today, quite a lot of pollen beetle and good forecast for the next few days then rain for end of next week, so will probably be doing it the week after with a splash for everything

When you say “a splash for everything” do you mean you’ll put something in for the pollen beetle? If so why? If you are doing a flowering spray the pollen beetle are helping pollenate the flowers it’s only at green/yellow bud stage that they very rarely may be a problem , once flowering they are helping the crop.

Please tell me you are not going to use an insecticide on the benificial pollen beetles?

Is there not a point where they do more harm than good? Was looking at the fields for something else and noticed a lot of beetles, agronomist will be out next week anyway so will see from there, I just put on what I’m told to

Dream customer for a service agronomist :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously if your agronomist advises insecticide in flowering rape for Pollen Beetle then change them
