still nothing planted here. still too dry. BG is coming but you know theres always more as soon as the drill touches the field. Pre-em needs washing in, not sitting on top in dry.

I’d always rather have it drilled, rolled and sprayed with pre-em in good conditions a bit earlier than ideal than have it drilled but not sprayed….or worse yet not even get it drilled.
Finished wheat drilling yesterday here, a bit later than planned. Will have all wheat sprayed up just before Monday’s forecast rain.
Then onto bean drilling…
I must admit after the last two year (last year less so but still a stuggle) its nice to have some decent conditions and get everything in.With a shed full of cheap fert and risk prices we have cracked on and are nearly done. Looks like it will go to sh!t next week.
Agree. I can’t bank on the last 2 weeks on October on clay to be perfect for drilling so we need to Atleast take some cover. I had got very complacent about the weather after a few easy yearsI must admit after the last two year (last year less so but still a stuggle) its nice to have some decent conditions and get everything in.
Agree the last two years, actually for me the last 4 to a degree, have been rubbish so nice to be drilled up except for one light, fairly weatherproof field waiting on seed.I must admit after the last two year (last year less so but still a stuggle) its nice to have some decent conditions and get everything in.
The only “bonus” and I say that with some caution was that in 2019 it turned wet so early that we got nothing drilled and we couldn’t get anything in so at least we knew where we were and it wasn’t half done and then fending slugs off with no preem and watching it die in water etcAgree the last two years, actually for me the last 4 to a degree, have been rubbish so nice to be drilled up except for one light, fairly weatherproof field waiting on seed.
