Anyone else not started drilling yet?

I’ve resisted all this rolling . Reckon with a press on front of tractor and a bloody big packer on power Harrow, it gets rolled enough in the autumn . Time will tell if it’s the right decision, but last year it came very wet and rolled headlands got knackered. Ground will take rain better if not rolled to within an inch of its life .

Had to stop Friday Saturday to get caught up with pre-ems and glyphosate for next lot of drilling. Had yesterday pm off which with hindsight was a complete fudge up as light rain forecast for 8pm tonight has turned to heavy at 3pm and that combined with grain lorries means I won’t get drilled what I planned today and forecast is shite.

Tuesday / Wednesday has the potential of stopping heavy land drilling for a fair while. We're getting away with it as it seems to be ten degrees warmer than normal . Mmm. Global warming.

Beet did 29 ton acre with just pig slurry pre drilling. No top dressing at all. Looked like it needed a bit at times, but put on a lot this last 6 weeks. Would have bulked up more if left until March, which was the plan until we realised how dry it still was underneath the tops .

With wheat at the prices they are, I can see your logic.
