Doesn't seem to be twaddle!

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/100...80m_EU_loan_for_Ford_s_Turkish_Transit_plant/

First result in Google search, similar story in mirror and others.

Read the article. The plant in Turkey produces the vast bulk of transit vans and has for years Ford received a loan not a grant before the closure of Southampton. Southampton has been a tiny unprofitable unit destined for closure despite Ford UK getting EU loan to try and save it. It is a Ford business decision.

What the hell has any of this got to do with the EU? All this is showing is that short-termism and making a fast buck is destroying whats left of British industry. Hopefully, it sounds like TM will put legislation in place to reduce this practice. I just hope the city fat cats don't talk her out of it.
I think we will find that TM is very much her own woman and will not be bullied by those with vested interest in the EU, who have made lots of money out of the "club:.

Thanks renewablejohn.

Is this true or some sort of Scottish Independance spin?

How can this be explained? Wasn't there a thread, a long time back, in which someone analysed British farming efficiency against other parts of Europe and found us lacking? So why does everyone else seem to need more propping up than us?

I suppose the type of farming will come into it? But I can't see a pattern there.

Well, after 3 &1/2 years, tonight we finally did it!

This thread was a masterpiece of all of our thoughts as it began. Many fine forum members from both sides posted long and hard on this very thread with their thoughts.

In years to come, it will be a very interesting one to revisit and relive all our thoughts from that time.

In the meantime, all the best to everyone who contributed and thank you @Luke Cropwalker for starting it (this thread that is!).

Oh yes, it got very passionate at times. But there was also some very funny post to laugh at.

Another Brexit thread https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/eu-poll-leave-or-remain.106278/
Predicted members voting 2/3 Leave. Which I though was rather a shock.

How many of us actually thought or even believed a Leave win would happen?
How many of us were shocked that the referendum result was actually to Leave?
How many of us wondered if after the referendum it would actually ever happen?

Now we are out of the EU....
Have lorries started to stackup on the M20?
Are long ques at Uk airports, ferry ports,Eurostar etc etc starting to build up?
What about the threat of shortages of Ag Chemicals and supermarket supply chains from Europe being disrupted causing food shortages now we are out of the Eu?
Will the above happen or was it mostly Media hype , or sales talk.:scratchhead:
O well as long as the sun keeps rising and setting each day the world will keep turning.
What will become of us lot the human race will be a different matter!!!!;)

I posted this on Twitter but I think we all should read and reflect.

When I was a kid we lived near Woodford airfield. In October 1962 I asked dad why were the Vulcans running day and night he calmly said just practice. I later learnt the doomsday clock was at 11.59 then. No one was in hysterics so Brexit? Let's all get a grip.

As I understand it nothing has happened yet other than Ann leaving to bagpipes and Nigel Farage narrowly missing a popedom

The UK operates until the year end on the same rules

So many posting on FB that the earth is still spinning

We are not out of the EU for another eleven months with extensions possible. That is when Boris has just told Border Control to be prepared to inspect all imports.

The sun will only keep on shining if the social media and news propaganda will allow it to!
