As above, Save British Farming are organising a demonstration in Swindon on Friday 9th October, regarding the Agricultural Bill.

We're taking two tractors, the more the merrier. Its going to be wet so there won't be any drilling.
We all need to show the public and parliament how we feel, we need to protect our food standards and ultimately our jobs.
The BBC will be filming on the day and airing it on Sunday.

Hmmmmm.............Remember to observe social distancing, and wear masks for cameras. And don't be a bother on the traffic front either.
Edit.... As mentioned above. British tractors only.

Highland Mule: I know what you mean regarding the imports.

We should all try and buy home produced, but its never that simple; which GB combine should I buy? Or fertiliser spinner or quad bike or farm truck? I am now trying to buy GB Kit, just ordered a Bailey Grain Trailer, first new grain trailer since 1983! A Webcox and we've still got it.

I'm concerned that this will happen to British farming.

I don't know the answer to your questions, I'm afraid, as these things will never be problems for me to think about. I don't imagine the British public will understand your dilemma though, but they will know that a Mercedes tractor or a JD, Fendt, Valtra etc. aren't Britishm and that's not the message we want to be giving IMHO.

I can lend you a 200 series Massey or an old Landy if you want? Would make more of an impact, I'm sure, if the protestors weren't all in mega money machines too.

Good for you. You get the feeling that UK framers have generally sat at home and relied on the likes of French farmers to fight their cause against institutions like the EU for too long. Now the UK has left the EU it's time to get out and defend your industry, because nobody else is going to do it. (y)

I'm not worried about the imports so much, its the lowering of standards to allow the imports in. We've all worked hard to get to the standards that we are at. and for them to be ignored to allow imports in doesn't make any sense. The world is a small place now and we all appreciate food, machinery, clothing etc from around the world.
I understand that the big shiny tractors probably doesn't help the image to the general public either.
