Anyone got any berberis in their hedges , ?

its a sort of nice hedging plant but trouble is its like thorn no matter how spikey the thorns if they can m,anage to carefully eat / pick at the leaves that will cramp the plants style big time , make it hollow in the bottom sort of thing.
so its not going to be very stock proof or even grow nicely then is it and just makes a bit of a lameness or orf etc potential problem causer.
there will be others but the plants here that ive found to be not browsed by sheep are Gorse ,Holly (unplatable becuase of spikey leaves ) and Rhododendron, ( they dont eat it which is good / they seem to know its poissneous/its very bitter ) ....... for reasons of them not eating the foliage to spoil the plant .

mind you we keep sheep pretty tight at times, and why we double side fence hedges.
