Anyone heard about Newark Livestock Market!

The show ground committee which is farmer led is still quite prepared to have a new market there but will only consider offers from anyone with serious funds in place, there has been interest but with the long timescale it would take to build they would like the old market to be used temporarily until the new one is ready. This would also prove that the people who took it on are serious and capable. Most of the interested parties don't want to do this. There is also a chance of a large amount of government funding to come but this hasn't been confirmed, the farmers market looks dead in the water, there seemed to many local farmers who couldn't support it with the person at the helm who tried to get it going due to some of their actions before the market closed.

I thought that the weigh scales etc from Newark had already been sold, if that is the case then it would mean a considerable investment to open up the old market even for a short time, can’t imagine many wanting to do that

All those "greats" like Newark, Banbury beforehand. Now only videos of the heydays with four wheelers loaded with stock from all over queuing to consign.

I think I might need a TFF holiday soon as It's such soul destroying reading some of the threads on here at the moment
If you think some of the threads on here are soul destroying, try reading the Farmers Guardian. 😭😩:arghh:
