Got plenty of experience with 110s but nothing much more than a few welding jobs on anything older.
What is it? 2, 2a or 3? What are the distinguishing features to look out for?
And what's the bit below the exhaust, cable comes from the dash, into the wee boxy thing and then off underneath.
Thinking this'll be the winter project. Chassis is pretty sound, a few cracks around the spring mounting holes at the front and a rotten rear crossmember.
There's a 4x4 event in February that would be a target to get ready for...

It should be a late 2A or 3 with the headlights in the wings, should say on the plate on the dash
The cable and box looks like it's had a tachograph at some point, the old cable driven type, the little box is the gearbox to calibrate it

Plan is to fit a disco 300tdi. So far I've discovered that the turbo fouls on the left hand drive steering box, a few bell housing bolts need drilled and tapped out.
Will the radiator/cooler fit in ok?
Would the swivel balls from the disco fit the axels, and can you fit discs on the rear?
The turbo fouling the steering box, you may have to fit a 200tdi turbo and exhaust manifold.
Rad and cooler, they will both fit but will need fab something to hold them inplace.
Swivel balls, sorry they won,t fit as they are smaller on Def / disco ones plus the def / disco ones run C V's where as series run U/J's.
Discs on the rear, there is a Dutch company called Heystee Automotive that used to do a disc to series conversion kits for both front and rear which i'm hopeing to fit at some point ?

Looks like a 3 with that grille and bonnet. Does it have a central, metal dash or are the gauges in behind the steering wheel?

Looks like a good project!

Could be a 2a trying to look like a series 3 or it could be a late 69 model that should have the Maltease cross grill which mine should have but @ £500-£1000 a pop a S3 grill is fitted instead could be the same with yours also the Maltease cross grill gets stolen quite a lot and hard to secure as you may need to remove it at time to time, i'm looking at making my my own Maltease grill at some point once i find a decent mesh or cage / gaurd that will look ok on but not the same as a landy one to keep the theves away ;)

Chassis looks bloody good! Any idea what you’re going to do with it? Keep it genuine or make some alterations?
rear crossmember is fecked and around the spring mounts at the front is cracking, the seat boxes and foot wells need attention.
I think it'll get kept pretty much the same. The engines getting put to the side and I'm going to have a go at fitting the disco axels and engine. I might give it a paint too.
