My problem with these types of thread. They are very one sided while naming and shaming a dealer who will always be on the back foot if they reply.
why not post your real name, what you paid for the tractor. What the dealer offered to do rather than all this hidden crap!
I honestly don't know why dealers don't spend 10 minutes trying out each tractor in their fecking yards, to see if everything is working. Another 10 minutes at the other end trying the machine under the supervision of the delivery driver would put an end to all this crap. If no warranty is offered, and the tractor fooks up after half an hour, then tough titty for the new owner.
Everything should be in working order as loaded off the wagon.
Otherwise, we might just as well do our shopping at Queeer Folks.

You get a more honest appraisal of a one man band dealer than any main dealer , they only want to sell new gear with a manufacturers guarantee , lazy farkers

@samthor101 you said pto engaged in yard but won’t engage with a load on, so unless they put it under load they won’t have known there was an issue? And if the lever broke off and you reckon it’s been going as long time, how is it their fault?
I didn’t say it was. He’s offered to sort it if I take it in but it’ll cost more to get it him than it would to split it on site. Given that I asked numerous times that the PTO was in good working order, i’m a little disappointed given the reputation I had heard of them and the strong price for the tractor.

Dealers can only sell what they’re sold, but unfortunately (and this is no judgement of the dealer in the OP, I’ve never had anything to do with them), an awful lot of the stuff has only ended up in the dealers yard because it’s not good enough for the franchised dealer to retail themselves. There’s plenty of tractors bought back by a main dealer becuase they’re a troublesome one and they do the owner a good deal on changing it for a new one. I’d bet nearly 100% of those tractors end up ‘in the trade’, they just want them gone out their gateway. I’ve yet to buy something from the trade that’s been a good buy, so have given up now and just buy new.

Certainly something to be said for not going alone to buy machinery but taking a knowledgeable friend who is familiar with the item being bought.

Taking in to account the possible view from both sides and the emotions that are probably involved this may, with some diplomacy from both sides, provide some wriggle room to bring about a satisfactory conclusion to a very fraught situation.

He has offered to sort it, what more do you want? Im afraid it sounds like a you problem not his. If you want him to sort it then id grin and bear the hour each way rather than split it myself. Trailer it, drive it. Better than nothing.
