Anyone looking for quick cash

I put this in wanted but thought it might be relevant here?

I need to put some cash to one side for a sizeable tax bill in circa 18 months. I am wracking my brains for an idea to utilise it.
I wondered this, is anyone needing to sell something (most likely recent machinery), quickly to get out of a jam? I would be interested in a proposal of some such item with a definite value, which is almost certain to be able to be resold easily within the 18 months.
I am talking of items up to a value of £200,000.
Does this make sense?

Cheers

I have a Nigerian friend that is looking for a business partner. He wasn't looking for as much as £200k, but I'm sure he'd accept it.

Seriously though, would it not just be safer to put it into a deposit account? Earn a bit of beer money from it in the meantime, but know it's likely to still be there when HMRC come knocking.
You managed to get the land sold I take it?(y)

As above, you are resigned to paying it, the mental healing process could be underway now instead of all opening up again in 18mths... look upon it as sponsoring a Chinook helicopter.
Not that it is any of my business of course.

Lend it to a broiler farmer, he can get his feed and chicks 1+% cheaper if he pays on the dot, rather than 11 weeks later after the birds are sold. so 5+% return p.a. between you both. beats putting it in the bank
But its only the dodgy ones that don't borrow from the bank to pay on the dot, so you could loose the lot.

PS I know that is a sweeping statement and using the feed mills credit has advantages.

go buy yourself a good classic car - money should be safe and you can enjoy it for a couple of year until time to pay tax comes

To be honest the situation I had in mind, and I don't want this to sound patronising, was a struggling businessman with his head in his hands and the bank on his back, with a 700 hour tractor in the yard he has to sell.
I could buy at a price that I could make a profit on but better than a shark would give him.
In this situation I would be helping somebody and make a small profit myself.(n)

Probably a daft idea:unsure:

I've got some wooden potato chitting trays I've been struggling to shift.....
£200k would buy most of them.

If you'd given me £200k 3 months ago, I'd have been willing to vote remain.:p
