Anyone looking for quick cash

I put this in wanted but thought it might be relevant here?

I need to put some cash to one side for a sizeable tax bill in circa 18 months. I am wracking my brains for an idea to utilise it.
I wondered this, is anyone needing to sell something (most likely recent machinery), quickly to get out of a jam? I would be interested in a proposal of some such item with a definite value, which is almost certain to be able to be resold easily within the 18 months.
I am talking of items up to a value of £200,000.
Does this make sense?

Cheers

I suppose combines would be the ideal thing. Buy at a discount now, as they finish the seasons work, store them for nine months, then shift them on when there's demand next June/July.
If you're really brave, hang on to it into harvest, and cash in on someone's insurance payout when their's goes up in flames!

That was the lines I was thinking of, just a tractor is more saleable.

Tbh- the safest simplest one would be - buy the cows (in calf, spring cambers) that are already on the extra farm we are buying near by, calv them, then sell them this time next year leaving us with a crop if calves. Trouble is, the business partener (wife) says it will be too much work on top of what we already have and she may have a point.
Might be a compromise in there somewhere, like buying his stores to fatten, alongside ours(n)

Ha ha. My sale came through, hence this thread. So I am out of there still remaining under the cosy eu blanket - so I don't mind how you voted:p

Roll over the proceeds from your sale and buy the place next door to Bossfarmer;)

Could then sell it on for a profit in a few years time when all the big dairy neighbour's are back in the game paying silly money.

Would be worth it for the entertainment value on here alone!

@czechmate, im wracking my brains and the only thing I can come up with is drug dealing ;)

Hi Ryan, My mum is pretty poorly in Kettering hospital. I flew to east mids last Saturday to visit her. I made a mid evening drive around the Harborough villages, ffs, passed three corsa type cars with blacked out windows parked on quiet roads:mad:. You could be correct:(.

However, a bit by stealth, plan A came to fruition and we have bought most of the retiring farmers stock. Will calv, grow through next year and see what needs selling to make the tax bill(y)

Yeah, you should read some of the local press, Harborough has turned into a serious sh!t hole, rape, robbery, paedo's etc,
I'm glad your sorted, am I to assume you sold the land in the end?
I was going to suggest a building plot to build on and sell...seems to work for the people we do it for!
Hope your mum is ok, and you and the rest of the family!

Why not contact a reputable financial advice company.
We have money invested through a company called Joslin Rhodes, and are getting up to 8 % return on some of it

As sods law goes. You would end up buying a cheap tractor from a struggling farmer knowing you can make 5k Two month later high court enforcment turn up to reposses it as the farmer borrowed against it with killer whale loan shark co.
