The hay I have seen so far this year is the best I have ever seen
I have some lovely hay too, cut in June, there wasn't much of it, my neighbours all said 'we will wait for it to bulk up'

My neighbours are now in two camps; - those who cut in July and August and made black rubbish and those who have still not cut.......

I made plenty of rubbish hay too.

Some of the ryegrass self-seeded professionally.

I had a couple of pieces that had bugger all on in june after we had done all the rest, I decided to get on and cut it as weather was nice, glad I did as it would still be there now I think

2.25am! Have you nothing better to be doing than thinking about haymaking at that time of day?:D

Yeah, sleep would of been good, but the dog decided it was an appropriate time to start barking.
Got bored listening to the old tinnitus, so thought I'd catch up on a bit of farming info.
Even had a look at Dairy! And I've been out of that 15 years!

Last bit of 5 ac still on ground was cut 18 days ago think has had rain on every day since, too thick to leave on ground.Only have a conventional baler so do I try and bale it for bedding worry is it will heat up and be dusty and mouldy or pay someone to round bale it and burn it.

What the heck has happened to the high pressure coming in? Supposed to be a nice settled spell this week.
It's pouring with rain here now and the forecast for the week is rubbish!
