Anyone made any hay yet?

20 degrees for how long? I've still got some 2nd cut that been holding on for, but having had over 11" of rain since 1st September haven't got it yet!!! Oh and parts of Cumbria forecast up to 100mm tomorrow

On the keeping hopeful front, I once baled silage in December in frost. Bale occasionally stopped turning due to ice on the rollers, was told the stuff came out much the same as it went in, very cold...........

I was foolish enough to consider cutting some yesterday for about 5 seconds, cleaned the baler down yesterday afternoon and have really had enough for this year if im honest!! 258acres on me todd is more than enough, even if the sheds are almost empty now!!

It could well be. I have plenty of haylage, quite a few of my customers will go onto that. Its 80x47 bales of hay im abit short of.

Gone out locally to Horsey Customers. Made far more haylage this year anyway (Planned) and more small bales. Yields down 40% consistently even with fertiliser.
