Mowing some headlands today for haylage , plan is to pick it up on Tuesday. Tight rows to let it dry in between. Hopefully headlands will dry so make less mess when turning on the main bits
I'd need a hovercraft to mow mine!

Or I crack open another drum of hay additive........
What is that coming out at /tonne these days?
Supertino Sr508.
50x80 chamber, simple mechanical baler, no fancy electrics to go wrong. But without the bale sledge as in the video:
No cheap hay thenManaged 40 acres baled 2 weeks ago.....with a little help from Calor gas.View attachment 810432
That looks a smart set up and I guess due to not being main stream brand was priced well . That sledge system[I know you don t have it] looks useful also and would save a lot of running around/compaction. If you don t mind me asking, what sort of money was the baler or pm, thanks.
Nope.....and a long way to go yet....No cheap hay then

As in cut the strings?!The hay that a lad made locally in May which is the subject of another thread hasnt caught fire yet but he did spread it out in under cover!
My Dad used to say “rain in June puts everything in tune “
Bloody big drips latelyMy Father used to say "a dripping June puts everything in tune" so a very similar quote!
Depends if your using large square baler and small square with bale baron rates or round/non Packer small baler ratesFull rate would be somewhere around £12-13/tonne, using the stuff I buy. So 25p/bale ish. 'Proper' Balers Choice would be close to double that I guess nowadays, its pretty dear. I've not bought any BC for about 5 years since I found the stuff I use now. I daren't think what the BC price per drum is now. It was steep enough the last time I got one from them.
