Your drill filler trailer would not be to hard to put a new larger and longer auger on along with its own hydraulic power pack for not much more than some of the current suggestions

That was my thoughts too. Could fill them with my auger bucket.

Hopefully you can negotiate a deal through farm marketplace!

They were at lamma I think @Rob Holmes got a price. I emailed the euròpean importer will have to see if I can find his email address.
Yes, I saw these a couple of years ago at LAMMA, they were on the Amia stand, Fledbox funnel box, terribly expensive I thought

I bought this recently and used it this spring. Just fill it like a bucket direct from the heap in the grain shed and it’s narrow enough to tip straight into the drill hopper without spilling.
You stole mine!!!
I made one just like that about twenty yr ago from a tip skip. Still using it to fill bags

A drill filling hopper on wheels with auger is the best option
No bags, no lifting, no danger, no pastic to dispose.
Before i got that i sometimes filled the combine tank with seed direct off dresser

As Chae said I do work for AMIA but not so much with the Fledbag range although I do know it tends to be the bag spikes and valves that we sell the most of from the range.
As with most things like this they can be very niche market at times and what may seem expensive to one industry could prove well priced to another to suit their needs.

Reading this thread, wouldn't it be better to stick with bags but put them into a safety frame or cage?

So if anything gives, the frame would protect the man on the drill.

Obviously another process at a busy time but quicker than transferring into a bin each time.

not sure if a bag would self empty well unless hung from its loop ?

for easy maths if you’re drilling at 200kgs/ha 1 tonne is just 5ha

so a 6m drill covering 50ha a day will need x10 refills with a 1 t bucket - unless you have a 2nd man available to go refill the bucket your going to loose a LOT of drilling time

for 1 man operation or work on land away from storage you need enough seed in the field to last a day, hard to get away from bags, boxes or auger trailers for that

You already have a seed cart trailer with an auger on, surely every other suggestion is more handling of seed and lacks capacity you need to be taking enough seed for the day. how long does it take to move a ton through current system?

it was brilliant with our 6m drill - enough seed and liquid fert for a days work and augers long enough to reach hoppers easy

12m drill means not enough seed for all day and drill is now solid / liquid fert

augers also a bit short to reach easy

In Australia the seed cart manufacturers just built augers long enough to fill them and fitted them to drill. Just took seed out to field with a lorry with a hatch on tailgate.

They were very low seedrates so not filling up often.

I saw artics tipping into drill augers in Canada. Not possible here
I always wanted to build a ten ton trailer with hinges at the front and an auger on the floor out the back which would rise up to required height
It wouldnt need a tractor on it all day and be much safer
It could also double as a static hopper to load lorrries at the gate at harvest time

So are you going to take the seed to the field in a grain trailer now?

not sure, looking for safe solutions

should sell our filler trailer really, brilliant for a up to 6 m machine, maybe just building a bigger version is the solution
