Hi folks.
Dealer is trying to sell us a 2017 T7.210 with front links, air, and range command gearbox. We have a 6080 at the min which is a good tractor and easy to fix and this 210 is a basic one aswell so no electric spools etc.
A friend had a puma 165 power shift/command gearbox and it was as dead in power wise than his old puma 160 semi powershift/range command so I'm worried that it might not pull aswell as the old one etc. We have a Tm and that runs rings round the 6080 in performance but the newer cab is nicer to spend the day in.
Anyone got any info to these machines? Stay clear or don't worry?

As long as you think it's only a 160 hp tractor you will be happy with it , just don't expect it to be a 210 hp tractor because it's not.

Get it for a week on trial and if u don’t buy pay a reasonable fee for use of. That way you can make up your mind properly because everyone in here will have an opinion but that’s not what u need. For the money your going to pay it’s the least the seller can do to get the deal across the line. There aren’t hoardes of farmers with that kind of money in there pockets.

Yeah I think we will have to have it on a day or two demo. Be good to have it as the 6080 is hauling spuds at the min so would be nice to see how it performs with a decent weight on its back. Anyone have any issues or common faults with the t7 smaller chassis ones?

A lot of dealers sell newhollands telling them that they’re the power on the bonnet which is wrong that’s there boost power which you never seem to be on at the right time... a 210 should match your 6080 though fine

On paper a 210 should be a step up from a 6080 (165 base v 155). That's certainly what I found moving from a low bonnet 6080. The newer engines are less restricted, but t4b brings a liking for the ad-blue.

I know the brakes are a problem but there easy to do so I'm not worried by that and we swap ours every 2500 to 3000 hour any way. It's basically the same as a puma 165 then. I think I'll have to see if we can demo it for a day or two to see what it is like for pulling. How do people find them on add blue? Are the spools reliable as this one has manual spools so I'm hoping that it will be reliable for the 10,000 hour we run then to?

We've a t7 200 classic. Cable spools. Done 4.5k hours and spools been fine. Its a t4a, our t4b is a 260 if working hard it uses a lot of ad blue. Its quite easy to delete ad blue on t4a. Our t4b has had a couple of ad blue sensors under warranty.

The 200 isn't really worked hard, copes fine with 16t trailers and pulling 20 silage bales around the countryside.

Try and get one on 42s. Ours is on 38s. There meant to go better on larger circumference tyres.

New Holland T7.210 is the most popular tractor running round my part of the fens so they must be doing something right!! Lots of them on hire this year as well due to Hawk hires collapse, so local dealer Ernest DOEs have capitalized on that. Most of these hire tractors are hauling 18 ton Larringtons full of Onions or Spuds at 30 mph + which is benefitted by the 200hp boost which kicks in above 16mph...……..I seem to remember.

I done 7500 hours on my old 210 and 4000 on my new 210 and never touched the brakes.... the only men touching there brakes are men not looking after there trailers and driving like idiots

10.

For some reason there's loads more 200s than 10s up here. Dealers always pushed 200s.

Yeah don’t know if the dealers are pushing them or not here but the 210's seem to be very popular here, NH's light platform high hp performance tractors always have been very popular, I have an old TS 135A which is 165hp on boost and it’s a brilliant universal tractor, plenty of hp but not to heavy for winter conditions, think the T7 210 probably falls into the same category

They scrapped the 200 with t4bs. Only 190 then 220.
