Maybe I should sell my amazone combination as I’ve finished with it and it’s washed down and back in shed.hoping to maybe jump onto the notill, strip till band wagon next year if I get the chance to see some machines in action.

Not as old as some, and not a lightweight drill but they got it done.
plough combi drill 8340 pair side 2.jpg

drill tractor on 600's, plough on 520's.
It gets a bit heavier at the bottom of the field so I had to put fresh harrow tines on to bury the seed.

What hp should a 3m Kuhn/Accord combi (or similar) require? (Decent medium loam, moderate slopes in places)
You should manage with 100hp ok,unless your a fashion victim then you woukd want a minimum of 200/250.
Our first combination was a power Harrow with up and over linkage with a Nordstern drill on the back pulled with a ford 7610 and worked very well till we had an amazone rpd.as allways technology marches on with rapid progress.

But it’s doing the job and working well.no disrespect but probably £10k doing the same job as something 10/15 times more expensive.

£10k
Drill was 275£ at a sale years ago and the 4600 was brought new early 1976 for around £2k ish. Probably worth £1500 now.
The seed cost more than the drilling set up
I have upgraded to hydraulic markers this year, modern stuff!
