As above, is anyone using the Mayo 12 month bolus?

Looks like good cobalt cover but less selenium. Be quite convenient just bolusing the once.

Yeah I use the Cobalt Master. Been using it in the ewe lambs for a few years and decided to give everything one last year - same as @Bill dog I bolus when fluke dosing and sorting out the ewes about a month pre tupping. Peace of mind knowing they're getting Cobalt all winter, lambing and spring. (We are quite deficient in Cobalt).

I've definitely noticed a difference in how the ewe lambs do over that first year. Harder to gauge the ewes, considering the difficult year it's been but I'm doing them all again this year.

I have been bolusing with the 5in1 at the end of august, taking them through til scanning, then relying on mins in the compound feed, but perhaps missing decent cover through the summer. I had a fair bit of bother with mastitis this year, which doesn’t seem to be an uncommon complaint, but I was thinking perhaps proper selenium cover from a bolus through lambing would help as what’s in the feed maybe isn’t enough to cover a deficiency. The best selenium cover would be to bolus twice with the 5in1 but quite expensive.
I had some bloods taken from 10 milking ewes at shearing to see if there was anything showing deficient but haven’t heard back yet, but from I’ve heard it can be quite hard to pinpoint with blood tests.

we have used them for a couple or years now pre tupping switched to using them twice a year for 12 months cover, very noticable change in the ewes at lambing time fitter and more milk just genrally more alert and active, boloused the lambs at spaining time with the cobalt master and we killed out at least 2kgs heavyier than previous years
