I have got one came from Weavings I only use for finishing off last load from 1 ton bags
Think I paid £94

Yes I bought one from Weaving for 1 ton bags mainly, then bought another one! Very handy and time saving, had to by a 2nd one as the first one was still in a half full urea bag and I needed one for a bag of nitram!
Would recommend one for 1t bags or 600kg bags.

Does the fert keep ok for a week or 3 ?

No, but I've got one of these....

...just cut the bag half way up the side and let out as much as you need

Keeps it as long as if the bag was still sealed, probably best on a pallet if left for the following year.

That's what I do, cheaper than £94 and can be used for other things!

I never want to have to mess about doing that again, you have to scoop it out when it stops running so it doesn't spill and end up standing in the hopper to do so. And it goes off far quicker. I may even buy another for the urea sulphur!
Christ you would think I was on commission!

Ps I do have a pen knife and like them just as much for cutting the bottom of the bag!

We have one, and it’s brilliant, going to order another for another blend, it will keep fresh till next year with no problems, just stack it on top of another bag.

I just adjust the rates so we always use the full 600kg bag

Don't buy one of those, they look a right ball ache having to screw them in to the bag.
I must be on comission!

What a load of old rubbish, how would you first screw it into anything settled, and then get any fert out. One lump would render it useless.
Cut an inverted tee in the side of the bag, same as everybody else, surely.

when big bags first came out, they used to give you a fancy triangular piece of plastic board, which you stuck in the side cut, when your vicon spreader was full.

Quite liked those old Dumpy bags ..... was certainly easier than unloading 20 tonnes of 50 KG Nitram bags by hand .... this is going back to the days before pallets and pallet forks !!! My back has never recovered from the good old days
