Spring barley stubble available to plant something for sheep, is there anything worth a try this late on. Was thinking Winter oats direct drilled with own drill might be worth a go ??

Or winter wheat, even barley?

It can be grazed up to a growth stage which I don't (yet) know the name of, but I understand occurs around the end of December

The grazing ought also reduce the need for fungicide, a winter cereal crop ought yield far better than spring sown, and harvested earlier next summer will provide opportunity for stubble turnips, or a grass ley reseed that could be grazed in the autumn

Couldn't you just let the aftermath grow up a bit and then graze that back? Probably not tons and tons of nutritional value in it but they'll graze it to the ground and fertilise it for you. Probably run them over it twice if it doesn't drop too cold or turn the field into a pond. Saves you the cultivation and cost of seed and cleans up your field. Unless you're desperate for sheep keep.

Will you help clear snow?
