App for creating shape files

Is there anything for creating field boundary shapefiles? I've got various fields that will have stewardship margins and plots established this year & want to be able to send the revised boundaries to Gatekeeper.

At the moment I'm using the SOYL iScout app then having sent them to SOYL I ask them to send them back again so I can import them.

No idea about Gatekeeper, but can you not edit field boundaries from within the program itself?

Yes, you can easily edit the boundaries within Gatekeeper but only using a 7 year old satellite image as the background. I want to measure the fields on foot and create a shape file on my iPhone that I can then import.

Can’t you drive them in a vehicle using your greenstar/Trimble or whatever you have? Failing that get SOYL to drive them for you or lend you one of there handheld devices (Trimble Nomad?)

How about measure map pro.
Good for that sort of work.
Or Map pad gps land survey.

Can’t you drive them in a vehicle using your greenstar/Trimble or whatever you have?

I use a Mueller Track Guide on a quad for exactly this purpose. Simply drive around the area mapping as you go, put a boundary around it, and save to USB as a shape file.
