Apple cider vinegar for dairy cows

Has anyone ever fed apple cider vinegar to their milk cows. Ive been asked by a local apple processor to add apple cider vinegar to the TMR to see if I notice any changes. Also how much per cow would I need to add?

Thoughts appreciated

Why? What does it do?
Just a general tonic, lower SCC, happier when changing feed, shiny coats and I don't think it hurts their cycling/calving/cleaning either.
Helps them drink more, helps hide mineral tastes.

Good stuff, we used to drench cows for bloat back in the day and used to put that in with the causmag/bloat oil brew to help us not wear so much drench :ROFLMAO::sick:

Hi Willy if you don't mind me asking where do you source your apple cider vinegar? Our's is a pure, raw, unfiltered, unpasteurised vinegar, it is a completely natural product with no colours, concentrates, sugar or additives added, it is produced from our home grown apples and of course contains The Mother, full of vitamins and minerals.

@Long Meadow Cider, I think you have got the wrong end of the stick. I don't use cider vinegar. I was asking what it does.
Have since heard it's v good at reducing somatic cell count so may use it this winter as a wee experiment.
Think you're in neighbouring co Armagh so I'll keep you in mind.

No worries, as you say we're not a million miles away, sure give us a shout when you want to try it out.

We understand fully where you're coming from as farmers ourselves in relation to costings but don't rule it out just yet.
We are currently working with a number of farmers who are trialling ACV on their animals and will advise of results when we receive them.
Speak to other farmers who have already used ACV, reduced SCC is one benefit as well as reduced veterinary costs, but there are many more.
We are willing to work with farmers and provide offers for those who wish to trial it themselves.
