Morning all, the daughter is due to start college next month and needs a lap top, she says she wants an apple one as that’s what she’s used to. Which one do people recommend and where is the best place to get one ? Cheers

They are commodities and it doesn't matter where you buy from. Currently there is a student discount available, but it isn't much to get excited about and if you are a business it would be better to buy it for the business. You will get a better discount from resellers than from Apple retail stores or their internet shop.
If used, then the model and spec is important and both these and the condition varies greatly. These are expensive pieces of kit, so you had better get it right and insure it for her.
A core i5 Macbook Air will set you back about £1100 + VAT new with the 10th generation processor.

You should be aware that new Apple laptops are soon to be introduced with their own chips rather than the current Intel ones, not that it will make much difference apart perhaps for battery life.

Something like this, used from a reputable supplier may be preferable, offering a worthwhile saving.

Sorry wrong one before. £824 before VAT with free airports for education discount. As before will probably need one or two things added which will bump up the price.
