When you get your Lexion out of the shed you have to state something portentous on Twitter such as:

‘Winter barley is a go’

A go? What is this mangling of the language? The correct phrase surely, is something like ‘harvest has commenced’

Alternatively:

‘The barley isn’t quite fit but we’re just having a nibble to fully train the team’ Accompanied by a picture of a massive Lexion (it’s always a Lexion) which ‘nibbles’ about 20 acres an hour?

Anyway, once we’re back off holiday next week, it’ll be time to get the Tucano ‘a go’ and train the ‘team’ swiftly followed by an unforeseen breakdown and some predictable cockup.:ROFLMAO::)

Hahaha
I traded my Tucano in for a Lexion this year so I’m afraid I’m far too important to reply to your thread

Did they run out of character allowance? Likely to be short for 'Winter barley is a god-awful mess but we'll have a go at it if only to get a bit of straw'

I did the same in 2018 although Harvest is a stop for at least 10 days. Think @Daniel might have the last laugh as I’m pretty sure tucanos are more reliable

Same folk that report their 14% winter barley to be yielding a “disappointing” 12t/ha. 🙄

I normally text my pal when we get going (almost exclusively on a Sunday for some reason) as we’ve an informal competition on who’ll break down first.

Oh dear, what’s wrong with it?!

Our Tucano is basically a Dominator with a better cab and prettier bodywork. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
It’s a good combine but they have far too much crap on these days like electronic gear changes electronic tank lids and chopper engagement. We had a tucano 440 for 9 years and it was dog reliable. When it came to change I had a want for the 600mm drum it goes a bit quicker but not massive amount. The tucano is a basic combine with a fair output in my opinion

You also need a “fleet” photo. If you don’t have a unimog or “mog yaahhh” then you are clearly not a farming champion!

We're going to have a nibble at our winter barley later today with our 38 year old JD. I's not actually fit, but we've run out of food for our cattle.

We've already been accused of having crop circles on the village Faceache page (laid spring barley - too much N not enough PGR). Not sure what the NIMBYs will make of us wiggling our way around black grass infestations and laid green bits.

We had to do that last year, it’s part of running a highly efficient operation with the minimum possible money tied up in feed stock, or something.
