Arag spray system high pressure, Househam

I’ve got a Househam spirit with Arag rate control, it’s got individual nozzle control and runs on pressure and flow. If I spray the tank right out to last drop, when I start the next tank the pressure runs around to 7+ bar (off the gauge) which if I don’t react too it blows a pipe off, also at times when using the gps section control, when on the headland that’s already been done the pressure will rise while it can’t spray, as soon as it hits the unpainted part the spray flows and the gauge settles back to a steady 3 bar, it can also be slow to get up to spraying pressure. I’ve tried somethings with Househam but no joy, it was fine up until about a year ago, so something must be wrong. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Pressure relief valve has been tested by Househam fitter, no kinks that we’re aware of. No Ramsey valve on this. Diverter valve I’m not so sure about. Trouble is every time fitter is called out to look it cost a small fortune! So just trying my luck here.

turn it off from rate controller to manual control, when the tank starts to run low on liquid the rate controller reacts by opening up to keep the flow up to the programmed amount, when you fill the sprayer and start off the controller need s afew seconds to know that more is going through and shut back down, my bargam does the same as yours so as soon as I know the liquid is almost gone I flick to manual and it stops the controller opening the flow valve. Hope you get that, its easy for me cause I know what I mean

Yep that’s what I do at mo, or remember to put on manual at start of tank and drop the pressure before I start. But it didn’t do this for the first few years so something has changed and I can’t work out what. We put a new regulator motor on it and no difference.

Has yours got a bypass on it ? mine has a housing that contains a filter in it which goes back to the top of the tank, the bit the filter sits on has a pointed end on which is pushed up into the top of the housing by a red knob on the outside which controls how much liquid can get by, I undid this a bit after getting covered by diluted spray during a washout when I first had our sprayer and turnedthe valves over and pressure built up and burst a pipe

Yes it has a filter by the controls which has a red knob on it, I’ll look at that as there’s something you’ve saying there that really rings true, we’ve had it out to check quite a few times but it’s a right sod to put back so there’s a good chance I’ve not fitted it correctly, thanks.
