Yes, kids used to have lessons with a local club for a while. They enjoyed it. Bought a couple of bows and a few arrows. Round bale, couple of tins of sheep marker and away you go. Worth getting some lessons for starting points if possible. And setting ground rules on safety right from the off, so it is natural.

How old are your children when they started?

Probably about 5/6. The club stopped doing the lessons. Can’t remember why, and ponies and football seem to take up their spare time now at 9&11

Its harder than it looks.............although my last dabble was with an English longbow with an 85lb draw weight........
You have to use your whole body to get that to "loose" position, they can easily fire a "light" (2oz) arrow 160-200 yards.

Done a bit at school, now I'm thinking crossbow to keep the local idiots/clowns out of the garden.
