is just me or are Massey Ferguson tractors being with drawn from UK Market? TNS seem to be only selling Fendt with Valtra as alternative.

also why do some manufacturers not sell their full range to uk market

Brigg was full of cats ,most have gone now ,,rarely see a Fendt in so Valtra and MF now seem to be the main stock

I think the deal with some Agco dealers is that they are only meant to have a certain brand of new tractor on display at the front of their yard with other new ones to the rear. My local multi franchise one has to keep the new Fendts & Valtras round the back.

Chatting to machinery man last week and he reckons Agco will offload MF as their only interested in Fendt as the premium brand and they'll keep Valtra on for the Scandinavian markets. He also reckoned JCB would be the ones to take over MF?

Even more sadly, he died around 1958 if I remember correctly.

No doubt someone will claim to have seen him down the chip shop last week, serving side by side with Elvis.

He was looking bored leaning on a gate in county Down last I heard,

Chinese Elvis allegedly too ?

You have to realise that Massey Ferguson has always been a multi-national company, originally based in Canada, with factories and licensees all over the world. The only difference today is that Europe is more important to them now than the UK, partly because, I believe, that agriculture is more important to mainland Europe than it is to the UK. So is manufacturing and business generally apart from the UK favouring 'service industries'.

This splitting up of brands has been known about for quite some time, it does make you wonder why AGCO have put it all together and given dealers multiple brands only to turn around and want them to split up, it all sounds rather inefficient in what is an ever shrinking market, but I guess this is costing the dealers not AGCO who have to jump through the hoops if they wish to remain dealers. It will almost certainly put financial pressure on some dealers, wether they can recoup any of that from the market place is another matter, but I don’t see it making AGCO brands any cheaper.
