Are farmers moving away from Land Rover?

200 and 300 tdi were fantastic. We still have a 200 here in daily use. The first TD5's were terrible but after 2004 they were ok. The last one we owned was a 2.4 transit engine type. Far better reliability but the build quality was absolutely dire.
i drove a transit engine one the other day, i fit a 300 tdi and td5 no problem but could hardly fit into one of them, wont be buying one of them ever.

The last three we had were 110 double cabs because I couldn't get into a 90 truck cab very well plus we had kids etc. On the double cab the front seats went back a bit further. The back seat was really handy for carrying coats and lunch boxes etc even if you didn't have passengers.

They are automatic, and only the LWB tows 3.5t - if you care about that...
SWB is 3t tow.
Couldnt give a sh!t about towing capacity, they more than capable of towing 3.5 ton and for decades folk been towing 3.5 ton trailers with pickups rated at 2.8 so i aint going to give a toss, got 33` tractor box now anyway hardy use ifor, and would prefer auto over man anyway, so nothing to dislike about them apart from the price.

Maybe so, depends what you want it for. For us a pickup is a better all round workhorse. Take the canopy off and it will carry a big bag or a pallet.
More of a car than a workhorse for me, cant have cars here roads to rough just destroys them, floods, snow, ice potholes you could loose a family in five cattle grids everytime go out all broken, cows out winterd on open roads sh!t everywhere you name it third world countries have better infrastructure, actually after typing that i dont know why anyone buys a decent car in this country anymore to be wrecked by sh!t roads.

I thought it quite a civilised place - just don't drive in to overflowing fords or go too far when the snow comes down. You're hardly in Namibia
