Are fendts really that good ??

Next door have a few of the old series Fendt and I can understand that as they won’t lose money now, also a newer 820 and loader.

I do have to smile a bit when I see the 820 out with a double round bale carrier on the back and spike on the front.:scratchhead::ROFLMAO:

Also know of a new 516 which is on a livestock farm ,circa 250 acre and doesn’t do that many hours, pays your money…….
Fendt favorit 800 are making huge money know

in 2016 bloke the other side of the road to us ran fendts had done for years Evan before a lot on here didn't know what one was , by 2017 he started changing brand due to engine and other troubles ,not a lot of fun stuck in the middle of a town at rush hour with black oil running down the road from it , he doesn't own one fendt now , is a large farmer /contactor so had quit a few

Mate I do some work for has a 724 that put fan through rad twice due to poor bearings and new vario before warranty ran out could the problem also be agco's accountants trimming the fat

Well I’ve run fendts since 1986, not exclusively, had JD, NH and Case, but fendt has stood the test of time all the rest have fallen by the wayside.
This year I changed a case puma 155 (6700hr) on a 10 plate, for a 718 (7200hr) 2013, crazy right, but that case was a hideous machine, and had to go.
Now 100% fendt, 100% vario, and no plans to change, never had an engine failure, never had a vario issue.
Just lucky I guess with these over priced crap tractors 🙄

That fan bearings was a problem well over 15 years ago and they still haven’t solved it. Most dealers just swapped bearings for quality ones. Why has Fendt not started fitting their own fan support baffles me. Volvo sorted it early on

Or are they living on past glories.?
A big outfit down the road runs several, including crawlers and heard that they have got through 11 new engines .two other farmers both had new engines 8n more than one that they own all these are In tractors no more than couple of years old .
If this is true why are they still seen as the dogs dangglies.? They appear to be no more reliable than any other brand.
Yet their brand image is second to none.
Apparently new engines are a service item around 5k hours.

I was hanging around a fendt dealers workshop last week and it was full of them. Queue outside too.

Had a few over the years. Square bonnet 930, old style 716, 2 x old style 820 and a new style 724. Older ones were far better in my experience. New 724 was ok but seemed underpowered but it checked out ok.

Poor that mind... 5k hours
Neighbour sold a 150hp 05year Deutz recently nearly 12000hrs on it & apart from a couple of water pumps & alternator engine had nothing
the tractor has never been back to any dealers since he got it new
Ive never had a 6pot massey tractor engine apart in 30yr of using them
Perkins or Sisu both as reliable as the other

EDIT!
Fitted a Turbo to a 6180 but engine wasnt apart.

Fendt seem to program the engines to self destruct. Doesn't seem to happen in a Deutz.

There’s thousands out there that have not been touched aswell, same as thousands of JDs that have original head gaskets and thousands of NHs that haven’t eaten their 19th gear bearing. It’s funny really that a Fendt dealer workshop is full of Fendts. Was at local NH dealer last week for a pto guard, for some reason there were only New Hollands in the workshop……
