Apparently new engines are a service item around 5k hours.

I was hanging around a fendt dealers workshop last week and it was full of them. Queue outside too.
I see RJ McClean with an 18 reg 828 with 5000 hours and a new engine just fitted. Some disaster. Who pays for these engines .

Fendt will, they charge extra when new to be premium brand so have the extra cash to back it up, and keep the buyers on side, others do it by adding warranty schemes at extra cost... all the same in the end.

whats the case like on the loader? steering lock ok with those tyres?
Pretty good. I like how you can adjust the hydraulic flow for every operation (need to make it a fair bit slower for dad) and Cvx makes it joy to use accurately. Visibility is a bit so-so, but it's to be expected with that bonnet. Only real gripe is the joystick, it isn't bad, but the new one seems better. In my opinion the steering lock is good, haven't noticed any drastic differences compared to the 6630 Deere (haven't really worked the 6430 on field other than carting manure, so haven't tried its radius). Then again we have pretty spacy yard and decent sized fields. Everything is okay as long as it doesn't have the turning radius of Valtra 8550. :ROFLMAO:

my 2019 720 didn’t even make 1000hrs before the 4 wheel drive one failed, still fitting faulty ones from what I can make out
I lost count of how many my 720 had, never paid for one though because of warranty, same with spool couplers.👎

the olders fendts 1985-1998 was decades ahead frome the competition (top speed, turbomatic, electronic hydraulic, from 1993 tls)
and when arives the vario at 1998 against deers 10 series was like lada niva against m3
now the new fendts have many problems with vario and engines with holes on pistons, i hope its only some of them

The Fendt (Deutz) engine is the same as that used by SDF group tractors, some Zetor models,...many vehicles with greater or lesser appreciation in the market. It is unthinkable that any manufacturer does not apply the best possible configurations to its products if it is installed in any brand, be it more expensive or cheaper.
A tractor like the Fendt 828 that costs around €240-250,000 seems like a joke that it has the engine of a 6,057 cc coffee grinder... but if people keep buying them and pay for those amounts, why are they going to change or try harder?
Then the buyer who has paid such an amount of money, will do the unspeakable to increase the virudes and hide the defects of such a jewel.
