Are fert spinners that bad?

Doesn't make too much difference on permanent tramlines with a crop growing in them, plus not really worth the effort of hauling them on and off to save a couple of ruts.

In fairness I have 8 tonnes on a 2400kg spinner, albeit on 750 tyres at the moment.

It looks a tidy set up to me.
Yes abit taken aback by someone finding fault with a 724 on a big trailed spreader. I guess some will always find fault!
Doesn’t bother me I’ve got 1500ha of urea/sulphur compound on everything, just some spring crops to go. Will be busy drilling in a few days I imagine. Pleased we have done it.

Haterz gonna hate etc, but shouldn't the tractor have chrome mirrors and twin CB aerials?

Just kidding, that looks quite a beast, did I read you used to use liquid, why the change? I was thinking of going the other way to semi retire an ageing spreader with no section control or anything, and maybe help justify changing the sprayer.

It is wrapped Matt black I couldn’t go full d**kh**d.

agronomic reasons mainly, I wanted urea and much more sulphur which is too expensive in liquid form. So a UAS compound 38-0-0-19 is what we are using now.
Also got a very good deal on spreader and we have a much bigger workload now it’s worked out very well.

With everyone raving about these Kev Geospreads, how do they compare to the Kuhn M-EMC spreaders... or would the H version be better?
If going kuhn definitely get the H version no contest I had the previous axera H model .

If I could get a kv disc setup with the H emc bit of a kuhn that would be thee best setup out there. I liked my kuhn but it didn't like my hills unfortunately. Since changing to kv no more stripes unless I've set it wrong

With this talk of bag disposal here, out of interest why are you not using bulk?
Storage and logistics would be our biggest problem going to bulk, at the moment I can put bagged N,P and K (we are on VR P&K) on the low loader get it taken to away ground and get them fields boxed off. Bulk I would have to keep travelling back to the yard. I do spread bulk K for a customer and I can also see the advantages of bulk.

not really finding fault. it just looks a big beast but obviously not as heavy as it looks.

All you people with liquid N what do you use for p&k
With a spare man and tractor you'll be better off with a spreader and making the most of what decent weather windows we get, we have both sprayer and spreader but I can't drive them both 🙈 maybe should put spreader on front links and sprayer on the back 🤪

Contractor to spread P and K or use contractor for fibrophos. Job done.

min some stubble pre spring barley. Obviously got the odd wet patch but would be waiting until April for them to dry out!
