Answered an ad on eBay for Teleporter (jcb) . JCB described as low hrs one owner . Turned out to be a company called 'Agri sales ' who assured me it was their own farm JCB .
Was sent loads of photos ,free delivery and 3 mths warranty . I specifically asked "does the handbrake work cos we have some steep banks on the one farm ?" Yes it's a good handbrake I was told !!
Paid up ,JCB arrived looking a lot rougher than the photos.
Handbrake non existent so a quick phone call ...that's ok get it fixed and send the bill .
Water pump leaked badly......... that's ok get it fixed and send the bill.... I said no you send me a water pump and I will get it put on ......water pump arrived ,a second hand one ..but it works ok !
Front drive shaft falls off ...only 2 bolts holding it on and they weren't even the correct ones.
Having put water pump on we still had a water problem which turned out to be a head gasket .
The top part of the door was missing despite being clearly shown in the photo
This is all in the first fortnight by which time I had just about had enough.
Did a bit of research on the history of the JCB to find out it was purchased at a machinery sale in the midlands and was probably shipped straight to me . Have now got the documents to see it has had 4 previous owners.
Have given up ringing Agri Sales because you just get told "we will ring you back" but it never happened.
If it was close I would pay a visit though I have been advised to not bother .
Have spent a fortune on it but I do now have a fairly decent telehandler .
I will add that I've looked back through the photos and in none of them can you see the reg plate clearly.!!
My own fault for not going to view . I won't be caught again !!!
ps. sent bill for handbrake but so far despite chasing no response so I now don't bother .

What is it with removing driveshafts?? I know of two telescopics that were purchased from the Quite Farcical firm that turned out to be only 2wd when they arrived.

Why oh why do people spend loads of money on things without seeing them:unsure:
Pictures always make things look better than they are!
I travelled 900 miles in a day to go and look at a tractor. It's just not worth risking unless you are 100% sure about the seller.
totally agree, personally i saw the advertisement for the tractor on ebay and thought that it was quite funny tractors selling under another name, just wanted to clear that up,yes i too have travelled miles to see tractors/machinery before purchasing !!whoever said the camera doesnt lie was misinformed imho

Innovation and tech in action at Cereals LIVE

There is nothing quite like seeing tech in action to understand how it works and how it can be beneficial on farm, which is why Cereals LIVE will be putting demos right at growers’ fingertips.

From state-of-the-art robotics, to autonomous tractors and electronic weeding, Cereals LIVE will have it all available in video demonstrations in the brand new Innovation and Tech Demo ring, says event director, Alli McEntyre. “It’s a brave new world for farming, with innovation driving sustainability and efficiency. Being able to see the most cutting-edge technology in action will give farmers an insight into where their businesses could be headed very soon.”

So what will growers be...
