Explain this .
A friend applied for this .
All qualifing criteria met .
All supporting evidence correct .
All above board and proven old boiler - coal fires - low income proof -kids - old drafty home - hmcr and everything proof (so if they happy their final word proof must count !) Everything -
When you say its a Farm - you DON'T
QUALIFY ?
WHY ?
BUSINESS ?
How many people work from home ?
Crazy the lot of it .
As real people who need and prove they need can not get it ?

They should get their MP involved if they wish to avail themselves of the offer. We initially had the same response with the added complication that the farm was owned by the local authority. A letter to the local MP plus confirming evidence from the Council as to the terms of the tenancy and they agreed to fit the boiler straight away.

Had plenty of these calls lately although I told them I don't claim any benefit. Apparently I wouldn't qualify even if I was claiming something as I only have a coal Rayburn and it's only for replacement boilers.

I think there is/was a similar scheme in Scotland. Anyway, I was getting similar calls which were, each in turn, typed into my Truecall and blocked...only to surface again under a different number! I assume "boiler" means gas or oil fired. I don't have one, old or new.

There was something similar to do with central heating and replacing a wood burner (or maybe the same thing?) in Scotland. I was approved and told I could have grant aid for such-and-such wood burner (poor reviews) and my central heating system "improved" by ripping out the micro bore system and replacing with new with larger pipes.

"Surveyors" duly arrived, measured everything, and told me what my %age contribution would be. I decided I could get the stove of my choice a lot cheaper and not bother with the heating refurbishment which was going to be too disruptive for the benefit. An installer travelled over 400 miles round trip to try to convince me otherwise, so someone is making money. I wonder what that's costing the tax payer?

It's doing our heads in at the moment. Recorded call at all hours of the day and late evening and another company who keep saying they'll take our name of their list, only to call again.

Exactly the same problem I have, only there is no way of actually talking to anyone and ripping into them or just leaving the phone off the hook and getting on with things. I don't want international calls blocked as I have friends who call from abroad! I may ring BT (my supplier) and ask what can be done.
