Are you feeling lonely and isolated?

Somehow we coped with the first lockdown when the weather was easier and farmers could keep to their daily routine. This second lockdown is tough for all families but especially for the elderly and infirm who are unable to get out and see their friends. And the younger generation working all hours have little relaxation time away from the farm and the family where they can let off steam. How are you managing ? Do remember to keep communicating with your friends and family..... a few words can make a big difference.

Where is home? it's it funny "me here on my own with cattle, sheep, goats, poultry and collie puppy to keep me company" sounds idyllic to some.... Don't suffer in silence, lots of support on here if needed.

I'm self employed, work for the minute has dried up. Single and only have 4 walls to look at bar walking the dog and food shopping ..... have to say I'm getting snipey at folks in general who seem to be flouting the rules!

Hope work picks up soon for you, agreed with the folks not abiding but the rules, annoys the hell out of me at the moment.

I just think we all need to talk,i for one have been guilty of this in the past and had my problems, but to me there always has been a problem with farmers that for some reason we are afraid or wary of talking to another farmer incase we give away any trade secrets . We are all in this together and since joining this group i have learned a lot and laughed openly at some posts (special mention to baldrick our next prime minister). Just talk to people a problem shared is quite often a problem halved.

I'm surprised to find that it is the library that I miss most, no constant supply of fresh books.
Your county (Gwynedd?) library website will have an app you can download and a very large choice of either e books or audio books you can download for free as part of the library service.. You only need a library card and a pin both of which you can apply for over the phone. Its not the same as a proper paper book but better than no books at all.

Audible books, I promptly fall asleep. Kindle, reading a screen just isn't the same.
Mostly I'm re reading old favourites, Nevil Shute, C S Forester, etc..
I'm currently reading my way through a book written by a friend, Tom Morrison.
'The American Steam Locomotive in the Twentieth Century' 600 pages.
He told me he took 18 years to research and write it.

I foolishly went to Tesco to get some bits the other day and it was mental. It felt so dodgy that I stopped half way through my hunt, paid and got out of there as soon as I could.

I had been in a big Boots just next door and that was much much quieter and more sensible. Thankfully managed to get my Christmas haul there largely. Unfortunately the bulk of my shopping has been done online except the local flower lady who for the first time delivered flowers for me instead of me collecting them.

The net good in some parts ,but addictive, along with the FB never ending horror stories and D head comments and how all get worked up and touchy about everything?
Like on here ?? Ha Ha .
Some really over the top with it all, mentally ,physically safeguarding, ppe etc and others blatantly don't give a monkey's!
Even the employed furlonged crowd getting fed up now with full wages for doing nothing all year???
The way it is heading not looking good.
Very worried and worrying times.

Never have time to even look at a book
A good point but some are in the position now that they have so much time on their hands that it can soon get you down . We have to be understanding of those who are not as fortunate as us to be busy all the time .
I have a niece in London in a fourth floor flat with a 6 yr old boy . Her husband has disappeared because he couldn't stick being shut in all day . She now has to cope with the lad on her own cooped up . We are so lucky being farmers and we must not forget it .
