Are you a member of Facebook,Twitter or both.
Forgot to say I am not a member of either, but that may be me being suspicious of both as I am 70.

have a personal and a flock FB page , the flock page is quite useful for publicising what we are about and other general breed info , have sold quite a bit both here in uk and over the world because of that page ,
also watch twitter (dont often post) for news ,

Can’t believe how long I started this thread!!!
I still haven’t joined either yet:rolleyes:
So have any of you closed your Facebook or Twitter accounts due to them becoming so unbearably toxic.
Or. do you find Facebook / Twitter a useful business tool, so the downside of them is out weighed by the upside, so you tolerate them .

Never been on Facebook, not my cup of tea.

Was on twitter after being told how good it was for learning from others, but I can’t of been using it right as my feed was full of big heads boasting about stuff, condescending arses belittling others and for some reason, lots of stuff from the grumpy woman off dragons den. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My twitter account was permanently locked due to infringement of rules, which was a surprise having not posted anything for the previous 9 months. Appealed, got it unlocked but it was wiped clean and my name was misspelled. Had a moment and decided feck it, not worth the hassle, got rid, don’t miss it. Never came away from twitter thinking it was a positive experience.

The amount of threads you start no wonder you’ve not joined them you’d not have time 😂

I don't use any of it, but I am told that Faceache can be hilarious if you happen to enter the more local groups and chuck the odd wasp in the jam jar. Years ago and at a previous address, a neighbour posted on some local community group asking they knew the owner(s) of a random [entire] Tom cat that had started entering people's homes and gardens on the prowl. Within hours the level of fervour and acidic comments that this simple post had generated was off the scale. Comments about the owners being totally irresponsible or calling for the enforced neutering or PTS of said cat were in the hundreds- to the point that the eventual owners were sort of forced by embarassment to take the cat away and have it done well away at a vets many miles from home. Not long after that they moved away completely.

Still on fb and conduct 95% of my business through it.

All the media platforms are simply tools. It’s up to you how you use them.

My business couldn’t function without fb at the moment. There’s no other media paid or otherwise that can put your product in front of so many people.
The fact it’s free is a bonus. If it was a subscription thing I’d be happy to pay if it yielded the same results.

The hacking and security side doesn’t worry me. People only get hacked because they allow it to happen. By responding to stupid friend requests or private messages

I know that I’m a slow learner but I just joined Facebook 24 hours ago. Not sure what to make of it yet. The list of potential ‘friends’ is amazing and includes a fair proportion of people I have met or know tolerably well. Very clever. Not sure I want to send any ‘friend requests’ and even less sure why I would wish to do so.
If I don’t get into it within a week or two, the account will probably be deleted, no messing about. As yet I cannot see any utility or benefit in it, for me, other than being able to read some links that I previously could not. However I’ve got by without it this long and could undoubtedly do without it forever and a day.

Very useful, in many different ways.

I guess TFF could be useful if I was a farmer or living in the UK, but it certainly provides the comedy - the best comedians in the world aren't trying to be comedians, and this is the essence of that

That's what I found offputting for a start - if I had your phone contacts then I could suggest people you might know, but not things you might find amusing or interesting. Once you get into the "reels" or short videos, the algorithms can get to know 'this side of Huw' and it gets a lot better.

My advice, don't add your friends, they get butthurt when you unfriend them. But explore the various groups instead.

Been with FB along time ,can't remember how many years .
Used to post on my own account but rarely if ever bother with it now .
Only use FB now for selling sites and messenger.

WhatsApp seems to be the in thing now with groups .
Neighbor had often asked why I'm not using it .
Can't be bothered,simple as
