Are your Isuzu D-max doors full of water?

Opened the driver's side back door of my D-max tonight and heard a sloshing noise :scratchhead:

On inspection, there's a rubber plug at the bottom of the door. So I pulled it out and boggled it with a wood screw that I had in my pocket....
FFS, there was a pint of water in it :banghead::banghead:

The nearside door was just the same (That's the one I filmed above).
The front doors had about an egg cup full in each one.

Needless to say, I've taken all four plugs out - if the bu66ers are going to fill up with water at least they can drain on their own now.

Looks to be the perfect way to rot the bottoms out of the doors  If you've got a D-max I'd be having a look to see if you've got the same problem.

It sounds like water is bypassing the window seals and running down the door skins

Yeah, I'd say you're right. We've had 40+mm of rain today but I guess it's been building up for a while. It gets pressure washed down at the market, when I do the trailer, so that'll not help either.

Check the condition of the seals they might be slightly perished

All doors are designed to have water drain through them in small quantities, entering through the window seals and windows as they are opened and closed in the wet. This is why there is a plastic sheet between the metal outer skin and the door card or interior plastic and card cladding.
There should be drains at the bottom of the doors that need periodic clearing. The same is true of the sills on the body below the door apertures, which are even more prone to blocking on many vehicles.
