Was on standard to start with then reread as server, so some weren't irs at the start, as big numbers removed classed at higher risk..... I can see the lots going even before a gamma test.

Yes I see now , couldn’t understand the re-read bit as it’s a time sensitive test but yes to review the paperwork and assess as severe makes sense . Still crap though .

If you are in a cull area then I think they will defo do a blood test in 60 days when you re-test.

You will prob lose the same amount again as this test if they do a blood test next time.

Have AH coming out next week, we are mileish outside of the Exmoor zone, but I think we're inside the buffer zone what ever that is:scratchhead:

That is a standard visit that all new breakdowns get I assume?

Unless you are prepared to lose all your cows I would try as hard as possible to stop them doing a blood test!

The visit could have been done over the phone as they have all our history, think it's more about the gamma, don't want to lose the cows but also don't want to be left with a few and unable to restock without stupid restrictions.

As far as im aware for all new breakdowns they come on farm even if nothing has changed since the last time you were classed as a new outbreak.

If they take all you cows you will not be able to restock for at least 6 months!

Normally they will grant a buying in licence after the first 60 day SIT as long as you have no more than 10% of your herd classed as reactors/ IRs at the second test, with the numbers you are getting its unlikely you will be able to get a licence until you have done at least 2 SIT so you are talking nigh on 5 months anyway before you will be able to buy any and if you get a lot going down at the 2nd SIT as well it could be 7+ months before you can buy any replacements or they might decide at the 2/3 SIT if you get a lot going down to take the lot and it will still be 6 months from the day they go before they will let you restock.

Rules must of changed seen last year , as they did it overy the phone. If they take the lot I won't be restocking, after 26 years of tb.

They make the rules up as they go along half the time!

Hopefully you will only lose a few at most at the next test and can then start restocking if you want to.

Will be intresting to hear what they say next week when they come out to see you.

We had a vet visit at our last breakdown. Nov 16. Found the information supplied most helpful and useful.

I don't think they make anything up but it is done on a risk assessment basis.
