The DUP are quite right to protest.

But If Teresa May had had sense (or backbone) she could have gone on TV and said: Westminster has no political control over Northern Ireland; that responsibility and power rests with the devolved government and Westminster will not be interfering in this Northern Ireland/Southern Ireland political dialogue.

Quite simply, NI has it's own elected government, let them sort it out. Maybe they should offer their people a referendum on how they want the border deal sorted out? Or are they merely political lackeys who want power but no responsibility?
NI hasn't had a government for nearly 2 years...

Both North and South Belfast have small/thin majorities for their current incumbents. Presumably there will be some form of unionist pact on marginal constituencies, North Down of course will be the top target for the DUP.

Right then .... must watch paddy power!!
Wonder how the little revolt in the heartlands over the TM deal will play out with DUP voters. Enough swing to UUP (even though they have basically same position as DUP in this)?
I imagine if I was one if the DUP voters who’s unhappy with them right now, I would do my part at next election to give my DUP MP or MLA their P45.
NI election next time round will be really interesting!!
Samy’s “puppets” insult to ordinary decent people, well deserves a P45 IMHO. Too much to ask though. As for Paisley ..... out now !!!
You wouldn’t thing if standing yourself? Would you?

North Down does have a tendency to elect mavericks, but seems unlikely that Farage would be parachuted in there.
