I've been quoted £750 for skip for first 3t, £150/t after that, 50 for this license, 50 for another....
when a skip goes it's going to be full!
They want it double wrapping inside the skip :banghead::banghead:

Bloke we used at Wareings sent skips with a roof on so you just opened back doors and filled it up, didn't need to wrap it then
This is a 12 cube hookloader, so sealed anyway.
I can fill my 10t trailer and drive to my other land, and there's a tip near there that I can just rock up to and pull the lever. :sneaky:
Fine until someone drives into me on the way. :(

Big range in cost of disposal via licenced carrier, £270-500 tonne!!

Landfill tax is £82/t, the consignment note required is £25 per load, sites usually have a 3t minimum tip and then there is the gate fee on top. I suppose it depends on where your nearest haz waste landfill is that has a moncell for accepting asbestos.

I have a modern farm building 75" x 65" and looking to replace the asbestos roof.
Can anyone give me an idea of the total weight of the sheets and cost of removal from the building and then disposal.
Building is in Devon.
Fibre cement weighs 17kg/sqm when laid (this includes laps) and you will have about 500 sqm of sheeting on your roof. This gives a total of about 8.5t. Allowing for the fact asbestos was heavier, your are looking at between 9-10t in total.

I'm assuming it's illegal to sell asbestos sheets ? Just seen some for sale obviously from the 1960's ( well free ) on Fannybook.

Cheap disposal........;)

That's correct,

'The second-hand sale of products containing asbestos (such as cars and trains) is permitted, but the second-hand use of asbestos cement products, which involves dismantling and re-erection is prohibited, e.g. a builder could not remove asbestos cement sheets from one building and then install them in another building.'
