Situation Vacant Assistant Farm Manager - Pembrokeshire

Sector: Mixed Farming

The Opportunity: A rewarding opportunity to manage and conduct the day-to-day technical operations of a variety of crops on an outstanding mixed enterprise farm. You will plan, walk, and tend multiple varieties of potatoes, brassicas and cereals. You will work closely with a wider team responsible for dairy and flower production and be involved in the crop planning process. You will also be expected to participate in the maintenance, servicing, and care of farm equipment. The successful candidate will have PA1 and PA2 qualifications and demonstrate experience in the operation of modern farm machinery.

Skills Required

Essential:

  • Crop management experience, including including any of the following; potatoes, brassicas, cereals or grassland
  • Reliable, with an eye for detail and a passion for precision
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely to maximise output
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A team player with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Sprayer operating experience with PA1 & PA2
  • The ambition to learn, develop and progress
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  • Agronomy experience in potatoes and brassicas
