no sorry i was slightly wrong

still only 2 winter crops in 7 years though
If you are to believe the press that's the sort of rotation what is needed to control bg but your picture shows it hasn't worked that well ,also why was it drilled in the high risk time and did you get the pre ems on in good time.sorry for all the questions

no prems used.
this was a bad patch in the field not that big.

why, because to be honest i was hoping atlantis could get me out of any mess given the cropping history

I looked at some patches in my WW that were patched sprayed with Atlantis and extra liberator end October with the bg at 1-2 leaf. Result.......useless! Lucky it's only patches

You are not alone I am afraid.

If you are getting into the situation where you know Atlantis etc will not work, you are basically committed to later drilling and a more costly stack of herbicides.

You could have been very naughty and put Pacifica on at the hairy 2 leaf stage mind.

Avadex for you now I suspect.

Rotation alone isn't going to give you the control you need. If your looking for the fabled 97-99% that you need to make any impression on the seedbank population your going to have to look at at a complete integrated management process.

This will include
cultivation methods, included rotational ploughing,
seed rate to try and out compete the issue, some varieties may be more competative than others,
drilliing dates, drilling methods including no till/low disturbance drilling
How many stale seedbeds did you manage to get between harvest and establishment?
Is there an option to use a well managed 5 year grass key?
And then hitting it as hard as you can at every oppurtunity with the most appropriate chemical available at appropriate timings.

My lists not conclusive but would be where I would be looking to start turning the balance

I believe resistance is not the only factor delivering poor to useless results.
Has this field ever had Atlantis before?

Spot on. Application & crop/soil conditions before, during and after application need to be right too. The bad bit about autumn Atlantis is getting those ideal conditions - active growth in mild weather, not stress from waterlogging and a dry leaf. Warm weather is usually wet and spray windows are very short in November. Even shorter in December.

If you were talking about mine. Yes it's had loads so I wasn't holding out a lot of hope but was hoping it was EMR so would possibly work at 1-2 leaf.
Conditions for use were perfect, it's been relatively dry here but as its dd there is more than enough moisture for growth. Application was in the middle of the day with sun and a light wind to dry the chemical onto a dry leaf well before dark/dew fall. Nozzles were the new Defy ones which in essence are an angled flat fan and water volume was 150. I knew there was probably resistance but was hoping EMR. In reality I think it has a degree of target site and EMR together.
