Something cheapish for bosching out heifer blend rather than bagging off over 50 bags a day in the back of the Gator

Yes but we tend to feed heifers same time as the wagon is feeding the cows. Frees up the men for other work after breakfast.
Trying to simplify the job a bit and makes for an easier job than hand bagging standing in the wind and the rain
Surely most efficient use of a wagon is to use it when it's not been used ??? Not buy another shiny ??

I've got this bucket and have used it for years now; really impressed with it. It will mix dry ingredients very quickly and deals with wetter ingredients reasonably well. I'm currently mixing urea treated wheat (60-70% DM) with minerals using the bucket and whilst it does it the mix speed is slower, limited by the ability of the hydraulic motor to turn the screw.

Emily say the bucket doesn't work with straw or hay; they're not lying, it hates it even if chopped! Really pleased with it overall, the mixing action using counter rotating screws off the same shaft is really clever and being able to mix then dispense without having to change anything or get out of the cab is very quick too.

More about freeing up time . Feeder wagon is mixing and feeding cows from 5am until at least 9am by which time we want all the stock fed to get on with other jobs. Feeder wagon would tie up both a tractor and TM plus a man after breakfast for another hour or two
Also it’s a bit overkill using the wagon to put out 1.5t of blend

Ag dipenser with a flap on the end?
Alternatively no flap and fire the feed over the hedge! :p
Doesn’t work ends up with meal all over the place,I tried it.?

I’ve an old auger bucket think it started out as a fodder beet chopper, cost about £700 off here,it’s been grand for meal etc..

All I’m saying is at 9 ton loads
A load every half hour that’s 8 loads
That’s 72tons enough to feed 1600 jerseys at 45kg a head
Obviously all your groups won’t be the same so some smaller loads etc,
But I think your feeder man should have the heifers fed by 9am as well as the milkers!

We put quite a lot of different things into the TMR and want it blending to try and mitigate sorting as best we can.
In any case, our heifers are generally on straw or rough silage on top of which we spread the blend. The roughage is usually ok for two or three days so wagon isn’t needed on days when not feeding the heifers
