We have a Duomix by Emily for feeding cake and grain etc works a treat, also good for filling up tonne bags and mixing up grass and wholecrop seed mixes

No because we like to tempt them to the feed face so they can be shut off for cleaning
And to ensure that the feed is fresh and that they come to eat. Good way of picking early signs of poor health

Your making work for yourself if your feeding your heifers with a wagon just mix it with the silage. Or young baldy could be using it as an excuse to get you out of the way for a few hours.

Yeah. Just been quoted £70k (after trade in) for 34cube

Had the augers refurbed for £4K very recently and good for another 3 years

thats eye watering. We paid 16k for a 3 year old 30 cube I think wide angle pto is a must imo so you never stop mixing.

would an old Keenan be a better option? Thinking you’ve likely got a spare tractor too small to do a lot else over the winter someone could jump on the loader bung it in and be away to feed before the big wagon got back to needing the tm

No doubt we could be more generous but we have underground lagoons which are difficult enough to stir as it is. The beds are given a good spread every day though.
Also because of slats and suspended floors, we have to be careful with axle loadings so restrict ourselves to an AG150 on a skid steer. Time to bed would be very tight if we upped the amount significantly

All of which sounds like an excuse!

But here are the last two NML results taken one day apart (collected daily)

30.10.19
Fat 6.25
Prot 4.22
SCC 207
Bacto 68

Next day
Fat 6.50
Prot 4.18
SCC 193
Bacto 35

Same milking team.

Mad

Surely your answer is here!!!!!!!

@Bald Rick

Two Jay Lors here. I would caution anyone considering one. They are a good wagon that wear well but the company themselves seem very poorly organized on the parts side.

I despise paying for incompetence and that’s what you get with their parts department.
Is that through local dealer or direct? Our local dealer parts dept is a joke on every line they carry. Salesman is good though and makes things right.

Through Jay Lor. We went 10 days without a wagon waiting on a gearbox. Our dealer did everything right, Jay lor was the problem. They kept telling us it had shipped but refused to provide a tracking number. Kept saying it would be here tomorrow.

It was a long drawn out process to get something shipped from Chicago that we could have just driven to get within 24 hours had they been honest.
