Auger capacities

How many TPH would people expect to get out of 6 and 8 inch augers respectively ? Inclined at 45 degrees or so and not worn out ( not brand new necessarily)!. I know our old 4.5inch or whatever it was very slow but modern ones are better? Looking online most information is in bushels as they are an American thing and the chart I tried to convert gave me surprisingly high capacities. How big would you need to load 29t in half an hour or so?

The official figures are
6" auger @ 45 degrees running at 800 RPM should move 36TPH with all new flights at 14 % moisture. That is assuming enough flight exposed. It will require 1.1 HP per 3 mteres
an 8 inch auger @ 45 degrees running at 600RPM should move 55TPH and require 1.6HP per 3 metres.
be aware that capacity drops very sharply in moister grain and HP requirements rise sharply too

Be aware that the intake flight can make a huge difference to performance and is well worth replacing regularly

full chart here , but it is in imperial measures

Used to use 4 1/2 feeding 6inch transmatic auger used to take about 1hr 10mins to load 29 ton.
Now have 6 inch feeding 10 inch takes about 40mins.
